Well I thought that I would show you all something I've been working on the last couple of weekends.

I have been finishing a basement in a house I own. The home is an old army base barrick type home which is about 40 years old. They used a lot of cinder block for the foundation walls back then and well, that is what we have here.

I finished the interior with drywall walls (sheetrock for you folks down south) and laminate wood flooring and of course wanted to finish it off right so I added baseboard trim. Well, how do you attach the baseboard to the cinder block wall? Well, we thought we could use a construction adhesive and glue it, but the glue didn't set up for 45 mins, how to hold it in place for that long?

Well, here you have it, the go-bar method works well everywhere.

Outstanding Idea. I have some cinderblock walls I've been drilling into to secure stuff. I'll have to try this.

John, before I attached the trim to the adjacent wall, I nailed a small cleat to the wall below the trim line into the bottom frame member of the wall, than I cut the 2x8 just shy of the total wall length and placed the board down on the "hold" side of the cleat so I didn't have to attach the board to the floor at all. (does this make sense? )Rod True38686.4522916667

Rod,
You must go to an on-line trim moulding forum & show them your "moulding jig" pictures. Tell them it's used in guitar building all the time & let 'em try to figure out how it's applied in luthiere.

Wish I had picture of my grandfathers cabinet shop back in the 60's He use to use go-bars from 5 directions when gluing up cabinet frames
